Lexmark is offering you a free repair part that easily snaps into the unit inside the rear access panel. The small repair part eliminates the issue. Installation requires no special tools and will take about a minute to install after the unit is unplugged and cools down.
A metal part inside the printer may dislodge, posing a risk of fire.
Approximately 48,500 units are subject to the recall in the United States and Canada.
The repair part will prevent the internal metal part from dislodging. The repair has been reviewed by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
